An evening to benefit HIV/AIDS awareness

JSW Media Group will host a Red Pump/Red Tie Affair, an event to benefit the Red Pump Project, which educates women about the dangers and spread of HIV/AIDS.

Join the JSW Media Group when it hosts the Red Pump/Red Tie Affair on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The event will benefit the Red Pump Project, a national initiative to educate women about the dangers and spread of HIV/AIDS.

This will be the Red Pump Project’s first event in the Carolinas and will be held on World AIDS Day. The event is a fashion-themed cocktail party and will include live jazz by 5th and York. Chef Jay Jones, executive chef of Chateau Noir and a Qcitymetro.com columnist, will cater the event.

The evening will include a silent auction, and art showcase and a "Rock the Red Pump" fashion show.

Red Pump awards will be given to community leaders who have raised awareness of HIV/AIDS in the community. The gala will also honor Ms. DeVondia Roseborough, author of “Put it on Paper,” a memoir of her life before and after HIV and AIDS. She’s also founder of the Rasberrirose Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring girls ages 10-18 who struggle with self-esteem.
