Charlotte-Mecklenberg police arrested and charged 23-year-old Kavron Hart with the weekend shooting death of 29-year-old Cody Bazaron Jeffries.
Jeffries was shot in the parking lot of the Embassy Suites hotel at 4800 S. Tryon St. shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on initial interviews, police investigators believe Jeffries may have been involved in an altercation with his girlfriend in the hotel parking lot. A hotel employee identified Hart as a potential suspect. Police said they searched Hart’s home and vehicle on Sunday and found evidence implicating him in the murder.
Hart was booked into the Mecklenberg County jail.
