Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the death of a woman in the
6000 block of Corktree Court in east Charlotte.
The victim was identified as Zenobia Linnea Tidwell, 33.
According to CMPD, the Charlotte Fire Department responded to a 911 call for medical medical assistance at an apartment shortly after 12:30 p.m. today (10/19). When they arrived, they found Tidwell lying on the apartment floor not breathing.
CFD requested police assistance because of the “suspicious nature of the scene.” Tidwell was taken to CMC-Main where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Based on initial investigation, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with her roommate, which turned physical. Homicide Detectives late Monday were interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood. No arrest had been announced as of 8 p.m.
