Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss says she is “devastated” by the beating death of her fiancé Ashley “A.J.” Jewell.

“His death comes on the heels of the death of my beloved Uncle Ralph and with both of them gone, my heart is heavy with grief,” Burruss, 33, said in a statement Sunday.

Jewell, 34, died Saturday of massive head injuries sustained while in a fight in the parking lot of an Atlanta strip bar. Homicide detectives have arrested Fredrick Richardson and charged him with voluntary manslaughter, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

“I had spoken to A.J. two hours before I got the call that he was in the hospital,” said Burruss, a singer-songwriter who has worked with TLC and Mariah Carey.

“Never in a thousand years did I think it was going to be the last time I heard his voice. He was taken way too soon. There are so many things that I should have said to him, wanted to say to him … But now it’s too late.”
