A grand jury has indicted six men of selling drugs in Charlotte’s Howie Acres neighborhood, where police in August erected concrete barricades to combat what some described as an open-air drug market.

Indicted Tuesday were:
Devin Alexander, 17
Travis Withers, 34
Darron Waddell, 19
Clifford Cotton, 48
Triston Grissom, 18
Alfred Easterling, 44

The Howie Acres neighborhood in northeast Charlotte has long been notorious for street-level drug dealing. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s vice and narcotics unit in August launched an undercover buy campaign to developed cases on the six men. That investigation led to Tuesday’s indictment, CMPD officials said.

Four of the suspects – Alexander, Withers, Waddell and Cotton – have been arrested, charged with numerous counts of selling and possessing illegal drugs. Police on Wednesday were still looking for Grissom and Easterling.

Police are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two men to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

CMPD officials said the department would continue its crime-prevention efforts in Howie Acres area.
