Full-figured models from Charlotte and surrounding areas will take to the catwalk
this week in the first annual Queen City Full Figured Fashion Week.

Keir
Duncan, director and organizer of
SizeRevolution, a group dedicated to empowering full-figured women,
said a fashion show that represents big girls in the Southeast is long overdue.

As a
plus-size model herself, Duncan said she noticed that Qcity women are hungry for creative and unique fashion, so she decided to organize the effort in
hopes of making it an annual event.

Her
efforts to “reintroduce the average-sized woman to the world” has not gone unnoticed.

She
appeared on the national syndicated “The Wendy Williams Show” on Tuesday
in New York and flew back the same
day to appear on the local television show, “Fox News Rising” on
Wednesday.

It’s
refreshing to see Duncan give full-figure woman an
opportunity. So much of the fashion world is driven by “thin” woman, but in
reality the average woman is a size 14.

If
you’re interested in attending, events are scheduled throughout the week. Checkout http://www.qcfullfiguredfashionweek.com/
for a list of scheduled events.

Duncan said she’s
expecting about 400 people to attend the Silhouettes of a Woman Fashion Show @
The Blake Hotel on Saturday night at 6 p.m.

Local
designers and boutiques, such as Scarlett Plus Size Boutique Torrid,
Alisina and Company, ENV New York,
Big Girls, Inc., IGIGI, Belle Fluer and Fire My Desire Boutique, will be
featured.

If
you go, tickets are still available for $20.00  for Saturday’s show at the Blake,
