The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on Wednesday will formally christen its Metro Patrol Division Office on Beatties Ford Road.
CMPD has invited nearby residents to help mark the occasion, which will include elected officials and a visit from Chief Rodney Monroe. The event will last from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Community leaders hail the new Westside station as a welcomed edition to the Beatties Ford corridor, an area still struggling to attract economic growth.
Following the grand opening, residents will be invited to share light refreshments.
The new division is located at the corner of Beatties Ford Road and Renner Street, just down the road from the newly completed Rosa Parks Transit Center.
