We’ll forgive you if you’ve never heard of Antron Brown. (We certainly hadn’t.)
Brown, 33, is ranked No.1 in the Top Fuel category heading into this weekend’s Carolinas Nationals at zMax Dragway in Concord.
Oh, did we mention that he’s also African American?
Brown tells the Observer’s Scott Fowler that he’s always been enamored with speed. He started racing motorcycles shortly after removing the training wheels from his bike.
So, what’s it like to pilot a dragster moving at more than 300 mph?
“It’s like driving the space shuttle but staying on the ground,” he tells Fowler.
