Fall is in the air and fashion is on my mind.

On Saturday,
I’ll head to New York City to cover my first Fashion Week at the
historic Bryant Park. The bi-annual event has been held at the park for
16 years but will move to a more spacious spot in Lincoln Center
(Damrosch Park) in September 2010.

As a native New Yorker, I’m
looking forward to experiencing all the hype that Fashion Week brings.
As your guide, I’ll give you a play-by-play of all the Spring 2010
collections, fashion shows and parties with frequent updates on this
blog, Facebook and Twitter.

If you’ve been reading my column over
the last year, you know I’ll give you the fashion/celebrity news
straight, with no chaser.

I’ll be hanging out with my New York
crew, hair stylist Caldwell of New York (he’s done worked for BET and
the Montell Williams show) as well as celebrity fashion designer Ashaka
Givens
, who’s known for her custom clothing for singers Erykah Badu,
Common, Raphael Saadiq and Andre 3000 from Outkast.

Follow us as Qcitymetro gives you New York Fashion Week with a twist.

In
the meantime, the second annual Charlotte North Carolina Fashion week
kick-off is on Thursday, September 10. The 3-day event runs through the
12th at the Mint Museum of Art, 2730 Randolph Road. Events will feature
designer and boutique runway shows and nightly entertainment.

So, if you’re in the mood for fashion, look for me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter.com/shezrotn.
