Mr. Sloan, 80, of Charlotte, passed away on Mon, Aug. 31. Mr. Sloan was born on May 24, 1929.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Madge D. Sloan, daughter, Constance R. Sloan; and a brother William J. Sloan, Jr., preceded him in death.
Mr. Sloan worked for many years at Edgecomb Steele and Roadway Trucking Company. He is survived by his children, Harry E. Sloan, Jr. (Lela), Wanda S. Kimble, Jerry B. Sloan, Gregory L. Sloan (Mary) and Henry J. Sloan; sisters, Ozener S. Yancey (James) and Elise S. Leslie; grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at noon Sat, Sept. 5 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Clifford A. Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
