Jay-Z has announced he will hold a Sept. 11 benefit concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The charity concert, billed “Answer the Call,” will benefit families of New York City police and firefighters killed on 9/11.
The native New Yorker partnered with the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund for the show, presented in conjunction with Fuse, Absolut and Live Nation. All proceeds from ticket and concert merchandise will go to the fund, and the performance will air commercial-free and stream online on Fuse’s Web site.
The rapper will also be releasing the third album in the trilogy, “The Blueprint 3” that day.
