Damon Temple, a suspect in the Sunday shooting death of Stephen Morris Hill, has turned himself in to police.
According to CMPD, Temple, 28, turned himself in at the Mecklenburg County jail around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Police on Sunday signed a murder warrant against Temple and asked for the public’s help in locating him.
Hill, 41, was shot outside a Citgo gas station on The Plaza.
Witnesses told police that Hill was standing in line at the store waiting to make a purchase when a man pulled up in a dark blue car. Witnesses say the two men began to argue before the suspect shot Hill and drove away.
Police later used pictures from a surveillance camera outside the store to identify a suspect.
