James Edward Burton died on August 1 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, N.C. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, August 6, at Greenville Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. His body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Burial services held at Salisbury Memorial Cemetery.
James was a graduate of Second Ward High School and a veteran of the Vietnam War with U.S. Army.
Burton leaves to cherish his memory a devoted mother Mrs. Juanita Burton; three sisters, Gloria J. Brown of Jersey City, New Jersey, Margaret Thompson (Rev. Bobby Thompson) and Ruby Davis of Charlotte. One brother Frento M. Burton, Jr. (Linda) and a host of nieces,, nephews and cousins.
Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
