Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investing a Sunday night shooting that left a 19-year-old dead. Police identified Ja’ron K. McGill as the victim shot at the intersection of Lanecrest Drive and Colby Place.
Officers found McGill on the side of the road suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated on scene and taken to Carolinas Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at approximately 3 a.m. Monday.
Witnesses say they heard several gunshots and saw McGill running on Colby Place around 11:30 p.m. Three possible suspects were seen in a gold or beige-colored older model Toyota Corolla, parked at the intersection of Colby Place and Milton Road. The vehicle was last seen on Milton Road heading towards Sharon Amity Drive.
