Although foreclosures are down 26 percent in North Carolina from last year, some homeowners are still facing problems.
The Urban League of Central Carolinas wants to help low-income homeowners avoid foreclosure and assist those who may already be facing foreclosure issues.
On Saturday, August 1, the Urban League will host a Foreclosure Prevention Summit at Providence Methodist Church at 9 a.m.
The all-day event will help homeowners find options to save their homes and offer ownership and financial assistance.
Nonprofit organizations, like ACORN, the Housing Partnership and Self Help, will assist low-income borrowers and homeowners with financing their homes and offer mortgage counseling.
Registration is required. Call Jean Busby at ACORN at 704-531-0760. Light refreshments and child watch are available.
Providence United Methodist Church is located at 2810 Providence Road, 28211 at the corner of Providence Blvd. and Sharon Amity.
