Marie Gripper Taylor, 86, from Matthews, N.C., was the daughter of the late Elliot and Lula Sanders Gripper. She departed this life on Saturday, July 25 at Carrington Place Nursing Home. She was a maintenance technician in Lance.
She was born March 9, 1923, in Richland County, S.C. Marie was one of eight children of which all preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Connie A. Berry (Fred) and Vanessa T. Key (Larry); four sons, Leroy Gripper (Sandra), Avon Taylor, Robert Taylor (Anita) and George L. Taylor, Jr.; all of Charlotte, N.C. and a host of grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service will be Friday, July 31, at Zechariah Alexander Sr. Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Interment will be private.
Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
