With the recent deaths of so many high-profile people  — MJ, Steve McNair, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Billy Mays — you have to wonder what life is all about.

Some of you may have family members who died unexpectedly, and you say to yourself, “I just talked to him/her the other day.”

That’s how short life is.

I’ve come to realize life is not about how much stuff we accumulate, how much money is in our bank accounts or what type of lifestyle we lead.

It’s about the legacy we leave.

Everyday I’m building a legacy. I had to stop talking about the things I wanted to do and start doing them. Tomorrow is not promised.

Sometimes we let precious moments slip by, moments when we could share kind words or give time to others.

How much do you give of yourself? Do you bring out the best in others, or are you coasting through life living for self?

Just because a person doesn’t wear expensive jewelry or drive a fine car doesn’t make him or her less important.

Never underestimate the value in people. Every person you know was once a stranger. Make contacts, make friends, make a positive impression on everyone you meet.

How do you want to be remembered? The journey begins now.

Are you ready?
