The summer food program for children will run through Friday, August 7 at more than 120 sites in Mecklenburg County.
The program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and provides free meals at several open sites to all children who live in the county. Those sites include most CMS schools, some churches, YMCA branches and summer camp programs.
Children must meet the national school lunch program income guidelines to be eligible for free meals at closed locations. Families with questions should call CMS Child Nutrition Services at 980-343-6041. CMS has been participating in the program for more than 30 years.
