CMPD issued a murder warrant Saturday for 35-year-old Edward Terrell Sloan.
Police say Sloan is wanted in connection with the June 24 killing of Michael Ray Simpson, 43, who was shot as he left a convenience store around 2:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Brookshire Boulevard.
According to initial reports, investigators suspected that Simpson may have been a robbery victim. The initial report also indicated a second suspect may have been involved.
When investigators arrived, they found Simpson on Honeywood Avenue. He was taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center, where he died after surgery.
Anyone with information about Sloan’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 704-336-VCAT.
