I recently saw a news report about a 29-year-old black male in Nashville who fathered 21 children with 11 different women.
While this is alarming in and of itself, the plot thickened when we learn that he works at Mickey D’s earning a whopping $6.50 an hour. Needless to say, this is not enough to take care of these children, so the bill has been passed on to the taxpayers of the state.
By law, he is required to pay at least $67.60 a month. But this must be split 11 ways, leaving each mother with enough money to maybe buy a box of wipes. What really raised an eyebrow for me was that all of these women knew the deal, he said.
I am saddened by what this says about the morals and lack of social responsibility of some young black men. Of course, the 6 o’clock news was all over the story, and when asked if he was done, this prolific father responded with, “possibly.”
Are you kidding me? So now he is unsure whether or not he is done.
To add insult to injury, the broadcast ended with the report calling this man a regular Don Juan. I could only shake my head.
What should be done about this? I believe we have to start treating criminals like they do in other countries. If you steal something, they cut your hands off. In this case, he would lose an essential part of what distinguishes him from a female!
More importantly, what about the children? These kids will now grow up provided for and challenged by the system.
Should this guy simply “man up,” or should part of the blame be put on the women who participated in this seed-spreading fiasco?
What do you think?
