A 37-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash around 2:45 a.m. Monday in West Charlotte.
The victim, David Jeremy Ridings, was traveling north on Sam Wilson Road in a 1994 Saturn SL1. There were no passengers in his car. A witness told police the Saturn ran a red light and was struck broadside on the drivers’ door by a 1999 Dodge Intrepid that was traveling east on Wilkinson Blvd.
Ridings was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second driver, Dellarisa Patterson Moore, was treated at Presbyterian Hospital and released. Two passengers in her car were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
