Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a gunshot victim found inside a burning car Thursday in west Charlotte apparently committed suicide.
The woman was found around 5:05 p.m. in the 1400 block of Parker Road when members of the Charlotte Fire Department responded to reports of a burning vehicle.
The victim appeared to suffer from a single gunshot wound. She was treated at the scene and taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where she died a short time later.
The woman’s name has not been released pending family notification.
