Mrs. Bobbie “Bob” Jean Mickles Scott, age 71, of Charlotte, passed on June 12, 2007.

She was born on June 7, 1936, in Charlotte, to the late Annie Belle Lyttle and George Leslie Mickles Sr. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving maternal grandmother, Hattie Gabriel, who raised her.

She graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1954 as salutatorian. She later attended and graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Carolina’s Teachers College, now North Carolina Central University. During her matriculation, she became a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and an inductee into “Who’s Who of America.”

“Bob” lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every day, always quick with a joke and a smile. She retired after serving more than 30 years as a social worker with the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services.

She was very active and a lifetime member of Seigle Avenue First Church of God. Some of the many positions she held were president of the usher board (over 30 years), church treasurer, Sunday school teacher and superintendent of summer vacation Bible school.

Bobbie leaves a strong legacy and is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Cindy Scott Fulwood, Karen Lynne Scott, Julie Scott Rudisell (Kevin) all of Charlotte, and Penelope Scott Bramble of Durham: three grandchildren, Nicole Elizabeth Fulwood, George Massey Fulwood Jr. of Charlotte, and Chloe Simone Bramble of Durham; one brother, George Leslie Mickles Jr. of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and a host of many relatives and friends.
