Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police today arrested Fisgerald Demont Kilgo, 23, and charged him with the June 1 killing of Drew Thompson.
The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, with assistance from S.W.A.T., arrested Kilgo shortly after 5 p.m.
Thompson was shot Monday in the parking lot of the Hilton Garden Inn, 9315 Statesville Rd. He was transported by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Based on preliminary witness statements, police said Monday that they believed the shooting was drug related.
This marks the 30th time Kilgo has been arrested in Mecklenburg County since 1996.
