The Nikki McPhatter missing-person case has attracted national attention.

A photo of the Charlotte woman was posted to the Web site of the Fox TV show “America’s Most Wanted.”

Police in Charlotte and Columbia are investigating her disappearance. Charlotte police say they suspect foul play and have turned the case over to homicide.

McPhatter, 30, works as a flight attendant for US Airways. She was last heard from on May 6 when she phoned a friend from Columbia to say her car had run out of gas. Hours later, two men were photographed by a surveillance camera as they tried to use her ATM card at a Wachovia bank branch on Farrow Road in Columbia.

Police in both cities have responded to numerous tips from people claiming to have seen her car, a black 2003 Honda Accord with the N.C. license tag “PHATTAH.”

It is unclear whether McPhatter will be featured on “America’s Most Wanted.”
