Responding to attacks that he was not “still a Republican,” Powell shot back on Face the Nation on Sunday saying, “Rush will not get his wish, and Mr. Cheney was misinformed,” and that neither were “not members of the membership committee of the Republican Party.”
Respondents to a recent CNN/ Opinion Research Corporation poll seem to have Powell’s back; 70 percent of them favor him whereas 55 percent had an unfavorable opinion of Cheney and 53 percent don’t like Limbaugh.
But, who really cares which Republican is more popular?
The Republican do, of course, and they’ve got a different poll — with differnet numbers — to prove just how much. In their poll, all three have favorability ratings in the 60 percent range.
