Michael Steele, the titular head of the GOP, believes the Grand Old Party has apologized enough.
In a speech today to the Republican faithful in Maryland, Steele will urge fellow party members to “focus all of our energies on winning the future,” according to the Washington Post.
He will seek to draw a contrast between the moderate policies President Obama ran on and the “left” way he has governed.
Mainly, however, he will rally his party to look ahead, not backwards.
“Ronald Reagan never lived in the past,” Steele is expected to say. “Ronald Reagan was all about the future. If President Reagan were here today he would have no patience for Americans who looked backward.”
