Lori Ann Davis was born Oct. 20, 1962, and graduated from Harding High School, class of 1980. She worked as a receptionist at Compass Group in Charlotte and in clerical services at Bank of America, Charlotte.
Baptized at Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church upon her confession of faith in Christ Jesus as a child. Attended and became a member of Temple International Baptist Church, Charlotte.
Married to David Hogan, who preceded her in death. She was the mother of one daughter, Lanika Smith.
She was an avid vocalist in the tradition of her mother, Louise, and had a great fondness for potted plants.
After an extended illness, she changed worlds and swapped mortality for immortality on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lanika Smith; grandchildren; Nyaysia Bonapart and Sheldon Bonapart Jr.; two sisters; Joyce Albritton of Nashville, Tenn., and Debbie Gill of Charlotte; two aunts, Mrs. Mildred Wilson of Beaufort, S.C. and Mrs. Florence Davis of Charlotte; one niece; two nephews; cousins and a wide circle of sorrowing friends.
