When I first heard of the “GoGirl,” I thought it was a joke.
I couldn’t believe that someone actually had invented a device that allows women to use the bathroom standing up!
The company’s motto is: “Because life’s greatest adventure shouldn’t be finding a bathroom.”
Most women, I’m sure, have experienced that uncomfortable feeling.
I remember once waiting in line for what seemed like hours to use a public rest room. When I finally got there, it was too disgusting to use (I’m a girlie-girl, and there are some things I just can’t do).
Then there was the long road trip I took with my grandmother, who had taken some sort of medication that made her have to go frequently. There was no bathroom in sight and I had to pull to the side of the road (Lord, forgive me, but I had no choice. Grandma had to go!)
Let’s face it, ladies, men have a certain luxury we just don’t enjoy.
That’s where the GoGirl come in: It gives us… shall I say, equal standing.
I ordered one to see how it worked.
It comes in a small, round tube. Inside the tube is the GoGirl device, toilet tissue and a disposable baggy. The GoGirl is like a soft, pink funnel made of medical-grade silicone; you can bend it easily. The device can be cleaned and reused or thrown away.
After testing the product, I’d say it’s something every woman should have. It’s simple, sanitary and discreet.
The tube is small enough to stash in your handbag. Also, the device has a good price point: $4.99 for one or $11.99 for a 3-pack.
