Ms. Freddie Vaughn was born in Lancaster County, S.C., June 10, 1915, and was the last living child of eight children of William and Roxanna Vaughn. She was preceded in death by her only child, James L. Vaughn Sr.
She lived most of her adult life in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she was a faithful and loyal member of Dean Street Presbyterian Church. She was employed by American Can Company and Kings County Hospital.
For the past five years she resided in Bowie, Md., with her loving and caring grandson and his wife, James (Jay) and Garrette (Pinkey) Vaughn Jr.
She leaves to cherish her life a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
To our grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, cousin and dear friend: We know you have enjoyed a wonderful life and were ready for the Heavenly Home that awaits you.
Your helpfulness, kindness, caring and just being there for us will surely be missed. We will always remember and love you.
