No Grease, one of the city’s best-known barber shops, is opening a new location in the Time Warner Cable Arena.
Co-owner Damian Johnson told the Observer the shop would make a soft opening Tuesday afternoon. The company’s Web site says the new shop will be at 333 E. Trade St., near Dunkin’ Donuts.
The shop’s first customer is expected to be Charlotte Bobcats majority owner Bob Johnson, who has served as a business advisor to Damian Johnson and his twin brother, Jermaine.
The Observer says Bob Johnson helped the twins secure a bank loan of more than $200,000 after local lenders were reluctant.
The new location will be the fourth Charlotte-area shop for No Grease, which the brothers launched in 1997. They also operate a barber school.
