Johnson C. Smith University will hold a pep rally on Tuesday, March 24, to celebrate the 2008-09 CIAA champion men’s and women’s basketball teams.
The one-hour event will start at 12:30 p.m. inside the Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium. The celebration was not scheduled immediately after the CIAA tournament because of midterm exams and spring break.
The university also is celebrating three Golden Bulls track & field student-athletes who earned All-American honors. One, Shermaine Williams, won the NCAA DII Indoor National 60m Hurdle Championship. Williams set a new national record with a time of 8.07 seconds in the 60m hurdles.
Miss JCSU Tanoia Hill, who won the Miss CIAA crown (the third consecutive Miss JCSU to win the title), also will be there.
