Now it’s your time to talk.
The Charlotte/Mecklenburg branch of the NAACP says it wants public input as it seeks to reorganize itself. The local chapter has been defunct since late 2008 after national officials stepped in amid allegations of financial irregularities.
National, state and local NAACP leaders say they are eager to rebuild the Qcity branch.
On Monday, March 23, local leaders will hold a public forum at Little Rock AME Zion Church, 411 McDowell, St., Charlotte.
The meeting is scheduled for 7-8:30 p.m.
For more information, the NAACP lists a phone number at its Charlotte office: 704-594-9555. Qcitymetro.com was unable to get through, however. A recording said the phone’s message box was full.
