The first thing we noticed was the courteous staff. It wasn’t packed, and when we mentioned that we were in a hurry, they showed us to our table and took our order immediately.
I ordered the Tasty Black Bean Burger with Seasoned Crinkle Cut Fries and my Auntie Dee had the Nix Prime Mini Sliders with Sweet Potato Fries. I’d never had a black bean burger that was breaded then fried. It was a bit mushy for my taste but the guacamole and pepper jack cheese and the soft bun helped make up for the sogginess.
Auntie enjoyed her mini burgers, but the best part, we both agreed, were the french fries. My crinkle cut fries were excellent (yummy seasoning!), but the sweet potato fries were the best I ever had. I’d drive across town for a good batch of fries. These were cooked to a perfect crunch, with just the right amount of salt to balance out the sweetness.
Not into burgers and fries? They also have chopped salads, wings, steaks and sandwiches.
Our tab without tip was about $26, and we left full and satisfied. Open seven days a week and late night, Nix is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
