Julius Peppers is steadfast in his desire to be traded, says the Charlotte Observer.

The Pro Bowl defensive end said Saturday he’ll ask to be dealt to another team if the Panthers this week put a franchise tag on him to keep him in Charlotte for the upcoming season.

“If they decide to use the tag on me, the first thing I would be doing is requesting a trade,” he was quoted as saying in the Observer.

Panthers general manager Marty Hurney declined to comment, the Observer reported.
