Debra Plousha Moore, a San Francisco native and veteran healthcare administrator, has been named to the top human resources job at Carolinas HealthCare System.

Moore was named senior vice president of corporate human resources effective December 1.

Before joining CHS she held a comparable post at OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio, a nonprofit system with 17 hospitals, 20 healthcare and surgical facilities and some 15,000 workers. CHS, by comparison, operates 23 hospitals in a two-state network and has more than 35,000 employees.

Moore said she believes strongly in community service. She served on numerous social service and educational boards in other towns, and she plans to be active in Charlotte as well, she said.

She is married to a retired U.S. Air Force colonel.

Moore graduated from San Francisco State University and holds a master’s degree in education, counseling and human services from the University of Dayton in Ohio.

“I couldn’t be happier than to be in Charlotte,” she said. “CHS has a standout reputation for the quality of its clinical care and employee relations. I look forward to doing everything I can to enhance that reputation further.”
